Welcome

It’s that time of year again.

Welcome to the 5th Harleston Beer Festival hosted by Harleston Round Table.

Harleston and District Round Table has raised thousands of pounds over the years for local good causes and we hope that this year’s beer festival will increase that fundraising total even further.

In the last year we have donated over £7000 towards local good causes, as well as hours of our time to help in initiatives such as rebuilding the wildlife garden area at the primary school.

This year we have 30 beers (including our own exclusive ‘Round Table Beer Festival’ brew), from different breweries across East Anglia and 4 ciders, as well as chilled prosecco. We have brought the best breweries and cider houses of our region right to the heart of our town. In addition to our local drinks we have local music talent on offer throughout the festival weekend and when you feel like a bite to eat, we’ve also got you covered with some delicious locally made food, along with snacks and soft drinks.

As ever with all our Round Table events, this festival has been organised and staffed completely by volunteers, everyone giving many hours over the days, weeks and months since last year, and I would like to personally thank each and every one of them.

As with all the best things in life, working together to achieve goals and succeed always feels better, and to this end, we have yet again teamed up with other local groups to share common goals to benefit those in the Harleston and surrounding communities.

This year we have collaborated with the Magpies Hockey Club to ensure we have plenty of staff ready to serve food and drink and keep everyone well fed and watered. We are as always, supported by other members of our ‘4 club family’, members of Harleston 41 Club and other Round Tablers from different areas.

This event has sizeable overheads, and the best way for us to raise as much money for charitable causes as possible is by offering sponsorship opportunities to local companies and individuals to cover those costs. Its fantastic to have the support of all of you and I’m serious when I say this event would simply not have been possible without your support.

From individual barrel sponsors and cash donations through to the larger sponsors and the companies who have donated equipment and/or manpower to build things like the stage, security fencing and the bar - without all your generosity, both big and small alike, we wouldn’t be here this weekend, so a massive thank you.

The Harleston and District Round Table is a group of men aged between 18 and 45. We meet socially twice a month, taking part in activities such as Raft building, sausage making, Farmkhana, an annual clay shoot, and guided tours of places that usually ‘money can’t buy’ and other new and exciting events. We also get involved with various activities throughout the year to raise money in and around Harleston, such as the Xmas light switch on, cleaning the War Memorial for Remembrance Sunday, our Santa Sleigh Run through town and marshalling at local events.

When we meet it’s just a relaxed group of local lads who get together to turn those mundane midweek evenings into something a little different. If you would like to find out more about us and what we do, then please feel free to chat to one of our members.

So just remember, the more you eat and drink, the more money we raise and the more we can help Harleston and the surrounding area, so get yourself to the bar and have a fantastic time all in the name of charity.

Cheers, and thank you for coming

How did we do (2022)?

We are extremely pleased to say the Harleston Beer Festival in 2022 was our best yet! Raising a massive £8500 for local good causes. Your support both financially and donated equipment was a massive help! The funds have gone to support the local schools, OAP's Christmas lunch, Bact community transport and many more projects.

For this year's event we have added a General “CARD ONLY” Bar running alongside the Prosecco Bar, this means we can offer Gin, Vodka ETC.. along with Soft drinks for those not sampling the great selection of Beers, Ciders & Prosecco.

If you are interested in one of the sponsorship opportunities, then please get in touch at harlestonbeerfestival@hotmail.com

During the event please tag Harleston and District Round Table & Harleston Ladies Circle in all your posts!

How did we do (2021)?

I am extremely pleased to say the Harleston Beer Festival 2021 was a huge success raising £ 7229 for local good causes. Your support both financially and donated equipment was a massive help, despite COVID we pulled it off!

We are already looking at holding a bigger event in 2022 at the Harleston Football Club with an increased capacity and possibly a 3rd day. If you are interested in sponsorship opportunities, then please let me know ASAP as the larger packages usually sell out fast. Please tag Harleston and District Round Table in your social media posts celebrating your companies support for this great event.

How did we do (2019)?

Harleston Beer Festival 2019 organised by the Harleston and District Round Table.

The round table in Harleston organised a charity fundraising beer festival at the Swan over the weekend to raise funds for local good causes.

The event saw well over 600 people over the weekend with music going on well into the evenings.

This event is by far the biggest fundraising effort in Harleston Round Table's recent history and it was great so many people came out to support it.

All proceeds of the event will go to local good causes, recent beneficiaries of our donations have been the Archbishop Sancroft High School, Alburgh and Denton Primary School and the Waveney food bank.

The Harleston and District Round Table are a group of local young men who meet socially every 2 weeks but we come together to organise charity events such as the beer festival and Santa's sleigh at various times in the year.

After the success stories of other local Round Table groups we decided that it was time we hosted an event like this. With months of planning it came together and the members couldn't be happier with the outcome, the final profit and the amount raised will be announced very soon.

As well as lots of locals attending, the Mid Anglia CAMRA group were in attendance and were extremely impressed with the local beer selection, the set up and the music.

We also had visitors from the Rutland CAMRA group who shared the same opinion. We would like to thank all of the volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event such a success.
